Job opportunity – Research Fellow

The UCL Institute of Education (IOE) is a world-leading centre for research and teaching in social science and education, ranked number one for education worldwide in the 2021 QS World University Rankings for the eighth year running. Within UCL IOE, Social Research Institute (SRI) is one of the largest centres of multi-disciplinary, social science research and teaching in London.

We are now looking for a Research Fellow to support the vision of a major programme funded by UKPRP to promote a healthier, fairer future for children living in deprived areas through a focus on improving environments that can influence health and life chances.  ActEarly is a large multi-disciplinary team based at UCL, Queen Mary University of London, University of York and Bradford Institute of Health Research. The programme is creating novel city research ‘hubs’ in Tower Hamlets and Bradford that will support the identification, implementation and evaluation of upstream interventions in areas with high levels of child poverty.  In this role you will carry out a research project under the supervision of senior colleagues in a substantive area relevant to Healthy Livelihoods and Healthy Learning that is aligned with the Tower Hamlets’ borough policy agenda for children and families.
